About Me

Hi, I'm Kio Yan.
I'm a full-stack builder. Most of my work is taking a vague idea and staying with it until someone can actually use it — product calls, interface details, backend, and the boring parts after launch included.
Bias to ship
A rough version in the real world beats a perfect plan in my head. I cut scope hard, ship early, and let feedback do the talking.
Product judgment
The useful question is rarely what else we could add — it’s what’s slow, unclear, or easy to break, and what to delete first.
Systems, not scripts
Clear boundaries, boring data flows, failure modes thought through while they’re still cheap. The next change should stand on today’s code.
Engineering discipline
Automation over willpower, quality gates over hope. If it isn’t tested and observable, it isn’t done.
AI in the loop
Agents write most of my first drafts and run the repeatable loops. Judgment, trade-offs, and the final call stay with me.
Own the outcome
What I take on, I finish. Risks get raised early, and what breaks on my watch gets fixed by me.
